Up the Karamea Bight to a place called Granity

On another stunning day we head northwards from Westport along the Karamea Coast.  This is a remote part of NZ that most people wouldn’t ever see because this coast road is no exit and goes another 75kms to Karamea and then a further 25 kms to the start of the Heaphy Track.  The first tiny settlement we came to was a place called Granity.  On closer inspection we think we know why it is so named …
